[HAPPY RECORDS] Disco Groovin' (1988)
« on: February 12, 2023, 08:03:22 PM »
Hello there,

here is one of the albums I requested a couple of weeks ago with no success, so I thought I take matters in my own hands and also - finally - can give something back! :D

● Label: HAPPY RECORDS
● Album: DISCO GROOVIN'
● Catalogue number: 2267-3
● Year: 1988
● Composer: Rüdiger Meng
● Genre: Electro-Disco / Italo-Disco / 80s Disco

● Discogs: LINK

● Source material: 16-bit / 44.1kHz / Stereo / WAV
● Shared material: 16-bit / 44.1kHz / Stereo / FLAC
via Audacity FLAC encode (best quality setting)
● Source: Me (no dubious "men-in-the-middle" and unknown transcodes)

Do you like stompy 80s beats in the style of Modern Talking and Italo Disco? Then this album gets you covered!

Thanks Psyclon for the rip!

It feels so good to hear this for once :D
Mh, when I formatted the information page on PC, it looked all fine. On my tablet right now, the bigger font is ridiculously large..

I know it's weird to post back in a share thread when there is not a question being asked, but I thank you all so much.
It bugged me so hard since I joined I have nothing to offer back. I rediscovered music since I joined LMT and the 800+ tracks I've gotten here are worth more than all the music I have collected before. Seldom I touch my "regular music" folder. And it would not be without the effort of the users here. I request something and all users come and drop their possession for me to put into my own treasure chest. "I have these...", "Here you go with...", "Oh, I can add ... later home", "I have ... but I rip it later when I come home". LMT is such a place to be honoured to be a part of.. Anyways, I planned to fill the other HAPPY MUSIC CD gaps, especially "Fantasy" which is a great New Age album, but alas, "not available"..  I swear it was literally days ago. I will see if I can dig up the other HAPPY RECORD CD albums.

I am also aware that, albeit this album is produced on a very high level of quality - it could be a ZYX Italo disco CD release if you have a blindfold listen - it is unfortunately not that special sound-wise. While the DeWolfes and Brutons are surely available in short snippets as a background in a TV production which makes them rare but you can literally start any Italo Disco playlist on Youtube and get the hours of hours of the same sounds "Disco Groovin'" offers. I do enjoy this stompy album that reeks of Dieter Bohlen [German composer responsible for sounds like these on the disk that had huge impact in Germany and some neighbouring countries here :D], but I am also miffed it's certainly not much of a "Whoaa" disk either. Anyways, I am glad I might fill a gap here and there for HAPPY RECORDS. Also, in 20 or more years, these sounds will be even more "goldie", so let them ripe :D

Once again: You are all welcome. I also like this disk, that's why I purchased it.
