Baja Marimba Band -- Idem (1964) {re}
« on: March 27, 2023, 06:15:36 PM »
Let yourselves be enchanted by the debut of Herb Alpert's side project. The Baja Marimba Band was styled as a novelty act (take a close look at the cover photo) but musicianship is top notch. The only thing to find fault with here being execution -- it's just a tad too well behaved.

The band almost certainly served as the model for Uwe Schmidt's (aka Atom Heart) Seņor Coconut.

This is the 1987 Japanese reissue on CD.
