AMPHONIC SOUND STAGE
« on: March 22, 2023, 04:31:11 PM »
Just as Greta kindly offered in the other thread (which I don't want to recycle as it's about a specific album), here is a list of albums I'd be interested in. And, apparently others too judging from the feedback in the ACTION PACK thread.

As usual: If not avialable it's not a biggy. But if asking yields results, why not? :D

* AVF 21
Super Funky stuff. The disk can be found at Youtube and it sounds rad.

* AVF26
The demo of Desert Shore is great! Synthesized New Age music (?)

* AVF38
No idea what that is. But it sounds intriguing.

* AVF42
Electronic stuff and circuit boards on the cover? Might be neat.

* AVF55
I have one track as MP3 from it. Would be great to update.

I am very fine with MP3 too (I should have mentioned that)!  ;D

EDIT: I restricted myself to the LP SoundStage albums (or those that are released on both CD and LP).
But I wonder if you - or anyone - can help me upgrade my demo songs for my other SoundStage albums?

* Global Warning (1990)
* Focus on Design (1989)
* Europe 1992 (1990) [sic]

Some of the files are clearly LP recordings but have a suspicious 16 kHz cut-off that is not a thing with "real" 320 kBit/s MP3s. I am torn here because the NICHION demos are cleaner but I also think the NICHION demos are still a tad more compressed.  :-\  Anyways, I will let my ears decide.

But of course I'd also take FLACs to put them through my own LAME converter :D

That is all right! I also check all these files individually even when they seem to be transcoded 192 kBit/s or something. In the end, those technical shenanigans like "16 kHz cut-off" et cetera is mostly a brain thing. "We listen with our ears, not our eyes".
If you hand me a cassette with these tracks on I'd not go and spectral analyze it. I'd just listen to the music. :D

And man, AVF021 is funky as hell!

Thank you hilbert for some AVF!

If anyone has AVF 48 - Romantic Rendezvous (1986) in mp3 or any quality,it would be greatly appreciated if they could upload. I've been after a rip of this title for years.

Super!

An overall really interesting album that gets you pondering about life (and the decisions made).
My "bait" track, Desert Shore, turned out to be even more awesome. What a mix of emotions this particular track evokes inside me. . . . .
