On tezeta's request here's yet another rip of this excellent album. This time directly from my copy to
wave and converted into flac.

Big, big ups, House!  ;D
An original LP rip is always a welcome addition; I'm mistrustful of any digital remastering or enhancement that may go on when these albums are reissued.

Thanks a lot, House, and big thanks tezeta for requesting "Midway"! It's always nice to have several versions to compare. Both sound very good!

Messrs Vslava, House, EMTB, and Tezeta: I thank you for your requests and subsequent rippage.

Seconded, x10!

Oftentimes, just having the music is good enough, especially when, just prior to downloading, all you had was nothing but fond wishes and desires for said music. Beggars can't be choosers

On the other hand, in comparing newly remastered reissues with the original vinyl, with few exceptions such as from Vocalion, etc, I prefer the original vinyl.

Besides, if a recording sounded 'good enough' during the initial run, how can it be that with a tweak here and there that the reissue sounds so amazingly better? Human hearing hasn't evolved that much in just a few decades. It's more a question of over marketing, over producing and greed.

Sometimes, less is more. Know what i mean?

For what it's worth, House's own rip sounds much better to me than the qobuz version. Thanks so much for offering us another view of this library classic!
