Sylvester Music Company

British label under De Wolfe Ltd., based at Wardour Street, London. The catalogue primarily consists of material licensed from the French Musique Pour L'Image and Technisonor Top 2000, but also some original productions.

Curiously, the "Recent issues" notes for SMC/LP/505 mentions a different SMC/LP/504 called "Recreation", described as "Series of novelty pieces - some with ocarina".
I don't think this LP ever saw release, but based on the description and title, I would guess these cues eventually ended up on DW/LP 3057.

Awesome, thanks!

I suspect it refers to the original copyright dates - but it's what the release says, regardless. I'll take a look.

edit: Yup, seems like it - though the non-reissued releases often bear the same dates, so these were possibly released both in France and the UK at approximately the same time, c. 1967-1971. Stuff like SMC/LP 523 being dated at 1967 seems "wrong", but you can see a clear tendency in the release dates surrounding it, suggesting it was probably issued c. 1969.

Sorry. My mistake on SMC/LP 523. It says 1969.
