I randomly found this while browsing around a site I use for finding eBay listings named Picclick, and I thought I would show it to you guys. I would bid on it, but it doesn't ship to where I live, so that's unfortunate. This contains Conroy 78s (alongside two Conroy 10 inch LPs) and FDH 78s.

I won this auction so they are all in the LMT family - I saw a couple had Southern Television stamps on them, and as they were my local ITV franchise I couldn't say no!
Will rip and share when time allows!

That’s great news that someone like LT has secured these. They will be in safe hands. I had a look at these but haven’t got a turntable that supports 78rpm
-
Lord Thames you're a star. I also followed up on WSBG's lead and was also struck by the Southern Television stamp on some of the covers but did not bid. I, too, grew up with them back in the sixties. Some years ago I successfully managed to track down the opening theme, Southern Rhapsody by Richard Addinsell performed by Eric Winstone & His Orchestra. Listening to it again after such a long time was quite emotional and brought back memories of Day By Day, Out Of Town, Freewheelers and numerous other excellent programmes they used to broadcast. I look forward to listening to what you've acquired and whether any of the records have other tracks which Southern TV would have used.

Happy to hear they've found a good home - congrats on the haul!

Thanks LT!

I am slowly getting through digitizing them - there are indeed!
Curiously, there's an FDH track which was sampled on a de Wolfe track in the 1960s (Skid Track on 'Electroshake' to be precise)
-
Curious. Please share! 🙂
-
Which track was sampled?
-
Beat Dramatic 1 by Ivor Slaney, from FDH 324 - I say sampled, it plays faintly in the background while some strange electronic noises play over it.
I can't imagine de Wolfe ever made much money out of Skid Track, otherwise Ivor Slaney would have reasonable ground for complaint!
