Title: What’s your most wanted?
Post by: Retronic on February 01, 2018, 07:25:40 PM
what rip don’t you have it that is dying for an upgrade?

I’d love all the Rouge LPs in HQ. I could rip them from the
LPs but am holding out for crisp FLAC files. Anyone got these?

Thank you Flemming.
My bad, I did not specify.
I have the music Scene but I would like it in lossless format.
About NRE 1020, I don't have it in any format.

Cool. Thanks, Flemming and Greta!

At this point, I don't have too many left on my list, but I'd really love to get hold of a lossless rip of
Canopo CNP 76 - Discosoundisco, and with a proper scan of the back cover and labels.

Also, these two Capitol Hi-Q releases --
X-197-198 - Neil Amsterdam - Rhythm Power
L-199-200 - Jack Mayborn

Ooh, Greta.... cream 'n' sugar all at once.  Thank you!
And Flemming if you score any others you know where I am!

This 'Blackout' is a pain point to me.  I had a complete run of all the early ones but like an idiot I swapped 'Blackout' with my mate before I know how good it was.  The gap on the shelf irritates the hell out of me so i need it on LP if anyone is selling???

I have that somewhere but might’ve been a private share.  Think it was a 320. Let me dig it out. It’ll be on some HD somewhere.

Studio One 36. Actually many of the Studio One are in poor quality. It's better than not having them at all, but certainly if anyone has upgrades; they would be welcome.

The following Cinemusic albums:
CMR 201
CMR 202
CMR 204 (how can you not be intrigued by a track name like "Bumpy Ride #2"?)
CMR 206
CMR 215
CMR 216
CMR 218
CMR 219
CMR 302
CMR 306
CMR 309
CMR 315
CMR 318
CMR 319
CMR 402
CMR 406 (apparently has "I'm Tickled Pink" on it)
CMR 410 ("Meteors at Play"- what a great name!)
CMR 411
CMR 419
CMR 420

And these few Mozart Edition albums:
MES.LP 084
MES.LP 085
MES.LP 086
ME.LP 202
ME.LP 205
ME.LP 207
ME.LP 210

084 and 086 are themed as opposed to showcasing a certain orchestra or two, and it's likely 085 is themed also. The four 2xx albums mentioned all have Gerhard Trede stuff on them, who's one of my personal favorite library composers, so I'd really like to hear at least one of those albums.

Thank you Stack for the Flac 'Identity' - I have to say I find the Capitol releases so confusing to catalogue! My folder is a mess!

One upgrade I would like as the LP is very expensive is Bruton BRI 12 - Gyroscope - very good LP!

I was reading again this topic, and I realized I didn't mention some of my always wanted, in my answer. I was probably sleeping.
A very long shot probably, but I'm after these Gianni Safred's records since always:

[Golden Record] - F.C. 1038 - Cosmic
[Golden Record] - F.C. 1039 - Alle Tastiere
[Golden Record] - F.C. 1057 - Gianni Safred Alle Tastiere
[Golden Record] - F.C. 1064 - Alle Tastiere

But also

[Music Scene] - MSE 121 - Themes Like Old Times
[Music Scene] - MSE 152 - Piano Club

Well, these are the ones I'm aware of. Would be great whatever else by Safred, other than the well known Music Scene MSE 126 Electronic Designs and Music Scene MSE 146 Futuribile, which I have and are absolutely beautiful.

I listened to it already 5/6 times.
Patter is such a brilliant track.
I think I'm getting into electronic music deeper and deeper lately.

It's clearly a fake 320k (it's really a 64k I think). But I'm so happy , you can't even imagine Jorge.

Thanks again.

Today I feel a bit nostalgic, and I decided to resume this great thread, started by Retro about one and half year ago.
It's been fantastic how people helped out each other. What about a bit more? Time make things different, records make the rounds, likes and needs change and evolve...

I'l throw in my desires, well aware they're all extremely long shots.
A matter of Luigi Zito and Vittorio Nadalin, aka Litoz, Dansco, aka the fabulous two, aka my dreams, well, you got it...

- the complete Ediphon run
- Lupus LUS 221 - Telemusica n.4
- Dischi Egede S1
- Dischi Egede S2
- Cometa CMT 50 Dinamica Ossessiva
- Nuovo Repertorio Editoriale NRE 1043

And I know Giallo Records printed a compilation in 2001 called "Psycho Film", where the b side is taken from "Tensioni Drammatiche" on Ediphon.
That could be one more chance to tick something off this list, right? I hope so.

I don't want to leave out an old favorite of mine, and never possessed:
- Nuovo Repertorio Editoriale NRE 1020 - Marco Melchiori

Right, I go back in my limbo.
To you, now.

Hi Greta, unfortunately I don't have any of your requests. I'm also very interested in those records, let's hope we find them one day.
But I think the NRE 1043 is available in the great NRE thread. The link is still alive.

My holy grail is De Wolfe 78 DW 2944 from 1966.  It contains an epic piece by Paul Lewis titled 'Pursuit Of Power', which is a track that was used a few times by NFL Films in the 70's.  There's also a very good chance that the B-side contains another sought-after NFL Films piece as well.

Myself and others have scoured the earth for this record for well over 5 years now with no luck.  Rarer than rare it seems.

A close second would be DW 2901 from 1965, which contains a Dudley Matthew track titled 'Blood And Thunder', which is another NFL Films-used piece.  Have had no luck tracking this one down either.

I’d love all the Rouge LPs in HQ. I could rip them from the
LPs but am holding out for crisp FLAC files. Anyone got these?

I have all Rouge. Most were. Flac but I converted to .mp3. If you need any let me know. They're pretty crisp. I convert to mp3 as I'm morecabout decent quality but   also have mb storage considerations. Anyone need mp3 Rouge let me know  :)

@MP3 discussions:
As you can see from my signature, I also opted to go LAME VBR0 (best quality VBR whereas 320CBR is an unjustified irony - saving space by going MP3 just to order the encoder to waste bits every frame regardless of the complexity of the current sound) after extensively reading into lossy compression. It taking away things we might not hear due to our ears (aging, damage), our equipment (I do not aspire to spend €1000+ into my systems) and simply due to our brain (psycho-accoustics) is worth the trade off. The quality is transparent (no audible difference) and I enjoy to have everything as small as possible; I am probably too German, but I love the efficiency. There are slight differences, but they are so miniscule and a very low tradeoff compared to such a compression rate. The developers of MP3 were scientists, and they knew/know what they are dealing with, and the results show in an excellent codec. LAME went a long way and being developed outside a close-circuit (the Fraunhofer Institute), it also had more input from more people that worked on that encoder, almost eliminating all "killer problems" over the last two decades or make them a 1-in-a-million problem - just like your occasional click and pop on a record. MP3, AAC, OPUS and OGG should be applauded for being so clever instead of just real-time zipping the raw audio. For us end-users (pure listening, no remixing or anything in that matter), it is the perfect format; even one further transcode e.g. in your video editing programme shows barely any difference. I do unerstand the worth of having bit-perfect/unaltered sound for archiving purposes though, as part of my research. I wish people would understand better instead of frowning upon MP3s; that is like hating BluRays not having an infrared video stream - you can't see it, but man, you want it so badly. . . .

Anyways, I have everything in my library in at least VBR5 (~130-150 kBit/s LAME), which is fairly decent. The average bitrate of my collection is 275 kBit/s as comparison. However, there are two tracks that are impossible to get. One is from a 1998 SONOTON CD album which is simply damaged. Yes, it skips and has artifacts all over the place. SONOTON has no quality check I guess, because they can't be serious about offering those hideously poor tracks for licencing. And the other track in 128 CBR has been shared yesterday, and I thought I could finally put this last puzzle piece:

VISION from the ORANGE POWER INSTRUMENTAL 10 album. The share is 128 CBR; it sounds good, but knowing to have a proper source is giving ME peace of mind. That song in particular would play in late 80s/early 90s German TV stations when it was normal for stations to shutdown overnight (who am I telling this, I am amongst the youngsters here with my 32 years!). About 8:25, the station would play its idents and then a scrolling text with the day's programme, probably a slightly flickering chroma-keyed clock animation of the current time - and in the background VISION.

Here is what a German TV station had, it's called Pro7 and from Munich (yes, the home of SONOTON and INTERSOUND).

Now you can mute that sound and play VISION over it. The tune above appears to be written by Klaus-Peter Sattler, and he made many of such theme songs and even had a CD.

If I could get this ORANGER POWER album, I'd be happy. I have other NICHION demos, but they used a good VBR setting, so even at those low bitrates they sound surprisingly decent, but man, that Orange Power is a bit of a bastard to get hold of!

My most wanted is sadly, very controversial around here...:( It's the Production Toolbox #3 album from Chameleon Music.

I'm leaving this forum. Good bye.

I will never be grateful to Retromatic because he hates me, and he doesn't want to rip the album (Production Toolbox#3) I've wanted since September! >:(

gasp!
I have already removed you from my Buddy List.

My most wanted is sadly, very controversial around here...:( It's the Production Toolbox #3 album from Chameleon Music.

I think I'm partly to blame for this problem.

Because I was the one who first told you that the music was from Chameleon Music.

And I was the one who told you that Retromatic owned the album, so you can ask him.

And that led to Retromatic expressing their displeasure at your request.

Personally, I'm interested in Chameleon Music, and if I find a site that carries it, I'll buy it and share it with you.

If I'm not mistaken, you're about 14 years old, right? You're still immature, and maybe when you're older you'll think differently when you think about what you did for Chameleon Music.

But at your age, it's rare for you to be interested in library music, and it reminds me of how I used to be.

Good luck!

Hi Greta
I think that ppl should be able to visit here without being repeatedly harassed if they don't want to share certain albums. I think the person who creates the problem should be reminded of courtesy. People can't expect to be named and shamed on here from disgruntled Children.

I'm in contact with both sides today, and I'm sure things will soon settle. So, just move on and forget about this matter now.

@Psychlon

I remember this music from Pro 7.  I've not heard it for 30 years but instantly recognised it.  This then reminded me of the Sat 1 music used at start-up each day with the programme lineup.  Having listened to both of those again today, I'm sure it's the same composer and wondered if you had ever come across this before...

Hello Tony!

Yes, I know this familiar sound! They even released a CD with theme songs from Mr. Sattler as the demand was apparently very high :) Unfortunately it's just the shows, not the actual waiting/background music, but the style is so "him". It might also be a fact he used the same equipment for all of these, so overlaps in sound and style is naturally happening.

There is something so familiar with these tunes, back then when TV time was so much limited - either while my parents watched about me spending time outside or because it was just not so much in the focus of our lives. Fixed programme schedules that made you buy a VCR (and program the ShowView numbers if you could..), commercials and overall often stale shows. But then, when the family would meet in front of our PANASONIC with snacks, each in his/her seats (and don't dare to sit on MY seat) and watch Glücksrad (Wheel of Fortune) or Der Preis Ist Heiß... And then that music.

There is a mid-90s SELECTED SOUND album called TV SHOW TRAX that is much more Eurodance'ish, but "Top Then" from that particular album is also something that clicks so hard with me I wonder if I subconciously remember it from somewhere.

EDIT: Oha, now the circles closes up. On Youtube, there is a Sattler/Janda track from the ARCADIA COSMOS series, and the uploader is Joakim, probably the same Joakim95 that is on the forums and shared the Oranger Power album. Köberl/Janda/Sattler are a pair just too well known. It's this combination of Austrian artists creating these familiar sounds..
Title: Re: What’s your most wanted?
Post by: tonyc1971 on January 09, 2023, 07:28:34 PM
Interesting that you mention Peter Janda.  He and Fritz Koberl composed a track for Sonoton entitled Energy 2000 which featured on the SES / Astra promo video between 1994-1996.  Again, if you listen to that, it’s very similar with the synths used. So reckon they composed the music used for Sat 1 in the link above but never tracked down the actual track on a library album. That said, I would be surprised if the music used was bespoke for the network.

I checked at (htXXs://www.sound-ideas.com/Product/208/Mix-XI-Broadcast-Music-Library-Royalty-Free-Music) and it's the same thing but in different titles. But, i have a good news about going to htXXs://musrc.com/ - The good news is, when i go to htXXs://musrc.com/ and then search "Dimension", i finally found what i wanted. But the funny thing is, some library are missing, which follows the list right below:

- CD1009 - (Nursery - Swing - Logos - Electronic)
- CD3001 - (Sports - Pop/Jazz)
- CD3009 - (unknown title)
- CD3010 - (Medium Industrial - Urban Dance)
- CD4006 - (Contempory/Pop)
- CD4009 - (unknown title)
- CD4010 - (unknown title)
- An 2-CD rare Christmas library set called "Sounds Like Christmas" (also found on Sounddogs)

Some are missing. But at least i found it. But awkwardly, it was incomplete as the list above are missing. Could anybody do my request for me while i'm getting to use it for a while? If yes, let me know! Thanks! And once again, thanks for the suggestions! ;)

I've been looking for this title for a while.  Not so much a, 'most wanted', but one that I'd like in lossless.  I've managed to patch together 7 out of the 12 tracks from other sources, so far, but I fear there's 3 tracks that aren't available on any other album, certainly that I know of.

I don't have flac of none of the other ones, except for CHAP 104 which is not "Drama Activity" but "Industrial" by Rhodos.
Is that the one you're looking for?

Thank you for your uploads Greta, and you are absolutely right... Chap 104 is Industrial / Activity, which is the one I need. I must have typed all that in a hurry, and I thought I'd checked very carefully!

Also thank you for using Mega, which works very well, unlike Pixeldrain and Racaty, both of which have issues with my Internet for some reason.

In that case, you can find a rip by Rocco here:
https://librarymusicthemes.com/index.php?topic=8071.msg55402#msg55402

Rocco's rip is from Edizioni Chappell Srl, CHAP IT-104, which is a mix of two records (CHAP 101 and CHAP 104).
For CHAP 104 just take the last two tracks of side A and all the side B, and you'll have the rip you're looking for.

Does anyone here have either of these Pantoscope albums in their collection?

discogs.com/release/5436058-Vaclav-Nelhybel-Industrial-Panorama-Sketches-Of-Mood-Music-Vol-1
discogs.com/release/27345057-Alexander-Barta-2-Telrafilm-Dance-Orchestra-Metropolis-Sketches-Of-Mood-Music-Vol-2

Have had a hankering to listen to them for a while, especially Vol. 2.
