Title: Your RIP is my command- what’s on your Christmas list?
Post by: Retronic on December 14, 2019, 06:49:38 PM
I'll do some rips leading up to Christmas but I never know what people want.  I have no idea what hasn't been shared so i made a little video just between us - me flicking through my records.
It's fuzzy! It's shaky! the critics cried but hopefully you can freeze it and get a sense of what's available.   I've already shared the best of them but happy to rip an upgrade too.
So, sit back, put on your glasses and have a perusal 8-)

Hello Retro,

good to see you still around here!

If I had two wishes than i would choose "KPM 1035 - Underscore" and "KPM 1077 - Progressive Pop". I've listened to several versions but they all sound poor with loud background noise and crackle.

I love to hear these in lossless / wav quality!

Kind regards,

Cali

Impressive collection. After watching, I've seen a minuscule-in-comparison two that I've been wanting to hear for a while but could never find: Parry PML 019 - The Christmas Season, and Sonoton SON-252 - Dramatic Timpani and Drums.

Yes I’ve got a fair few but not a full set.  These were shared in a mega thread so I might have a FLAC from there. What you after?

Wow, I got lost watching the vid. Thank you for your availability Retro.
Anyway, what's that record with a fast red car (Lambo?) on the cover at around 11.32? I just can't recall it, or I simply never saw it. But I'm intrigued by that one.

Any chance you have that Bruton Steel Band record? I never can track down the actual steel drum tracks anywhere.

Also, what''s the label of that Night Cruisin record? It's too blurry for me :P

Night Cruisin is on Hudson.

Is this the Bruton you mean- I have this one:

Such a vast collection!
Don't know if you have this on vinyl, and i'm certain some libraries were featured on this album with the accompaniment of dialogue.

Hello Retro! First of all thanks for your kind offer. It took me so long to have a decent look to your video. Time here is never, never enough.
If I may..these are my wishes (as far as I could grab images with my shaking eyes..):

- as Stack says, count me in for BTW 100, but also upgrades of 101 and 105 would be great.
- I would like to hear that Ariston BRM 002 Panoramic Themes also.
- And then, some upgrades from the Bruton catalog. But I'm asking you if you have these, cause I couldn't see from the video: BRG 9 / BRK 9 / BRM 1 / BRM 9 / BRN 1-4-8-10

Whatever you can do it'll be great.
Best wishes to you for these holydays and for the new year to come.
G.

By the way, what is playing in the background.
Sounds great.

I can't remember.  I kept them on my desktop for a while in case anyone asked but have cleared them now.  Totally random.
I remember the first one was 'Caravans' from PIL 9043 'Workforce'.

I should have said in the opening post that my intention with this was for the Christmas Eve post and I put time aside to rip a load of things I wouldn't normally do.  Now that it's done I'll be a lot slower.  You know I'm not really into late 80's stuff so I don't rip them very often but I will try and do some of these over the next weeks/months.  I'll probably load up the unedited file and let someone else edit them (that's the time consuming bit).

Actually hadn't gotten around to watching this before now - what a fascinating showcase!

At 11:26, there's a red sleeved record that says "A Selection of Original Works by Eugene Cines" that I've never seen before, and can't seem to find any mention of online. Do you know which label it's on?
