Here's a TV cue I put up years ago on the first board, but never found any info. Two funk tunes from the 1970s U.S. sitcom "What's Happening".
This is Season 1, Episode 4 (My Three Sons, Rerun auditions for the Rockets), first aired 26 August 1976.
Cues start around 4:30 and 4:49. I don't know anything about the music used for the show, beyond the fact that Henry Mancini wrote the theme song.

Damn, Love those tracks, could not find any info too :(
What's Happening, i really need these now ;D

That's very nice! Love the clavinet(?) sound.
No idea about ID, but knowing the context, maybe these are from Hoctor/Statler? Just a thought.

If you put 'What's Happening cues' into ASCAP you get two entries - one for Henry Mancini, the other for two composers, Lou Bideau and Gerald Bronche Lee.
The pair seem to have written a lot of US sitcom music - whether it includes this or not, who knows? Sorry, that's really unhelpful! :)

Nah, that's very helpful, LT. Good to have those other two names. Thanks!

As a big fan of What's Happening, I two have wonderful d about several cues used for the show. I don't know how I missed this thread, and I wish I could provide more answers as to if and where these could be obtained. There is a good chance with the name of the composers that is found through ASCAP, that there are tapes of this music that will likely not ever see the light of day. I certainly hope so, but I know from last sitcoms with similar situations that it's unlikely..

Just checking in on this topic as I hope one day to find the true identities of these cues from What's Happening

Still hoping someone can identify these cues from What's Happening!
