Shameless plug. I have decided to do a blog too, as i have a fair few others coming in from various other sources:
librarymusicarchives.blogspot.com/
The site gives a lot more information on the 78's and also, contains individual files in case you have some of the releases in the batch.
I shall maintain this thread and the blog in tandem. The plan is to do the Harmonics, then move on to another label, etc.
Hope you enjoy...
UPDATE No 1 NOW LIVE ON THE BLOG - CONTAINING:
CBL 300 - Rondo Giubilante/Bearskins & Busbies
CBL 302 - Muriella/Sirenade
CBL 303 - Carnival of Joy/Vive La Polka
CBL 304 - Caprice on Tiptoe/The Painted Veil
CBL 305 - Parlour Games/Strings on the Strand

On your “What-You-Got Thread” post, you said you got 400 78’s
Now, if you plan on doing 10 a week,
(let's see, 400 78’s divided by 10 records per week would be finished in, um...40 weeks)
Looking through my calendar, the last batch will be on July 19th, 2019
Wheeeee!!!
Listening to the first one now Romantic Vista by Cecil Milner.
The sound is beautiful!
Nice job & thanks so much.
-
And that was just the Dr Jazz batch... It is very likely that i will do more than 10 a week, but 'at least' 10 a week as a guide....
The cleaning of those 10 was a right PITA, but happy (although they could be better) with the sound!
Glad you like the sound so far... I am guessing newer ones will be better sounding, and older ones will be a bit 'Meh' hehe!
-
What a huge and beautiful project. Thank you TEH. Great and very useful blog too.
-
Cool! A very ambitious project. I'm looking forward to following along. Thank you for the first batch. Was there, by chance, an orchestra credited and a date printed on the label?
-
What great music. And the quality is excellent. Many thanks for sharing. I look forward to more - in your own time!!
-
Excellent, thanks a lot, really appreciate it The_Eleventh_Hour! :)

Thanks my good man..
For the ones in this batch, the Conductor was Curt Anderson and the Orchestra wasThe Symphonia Orchestra, CBL 577 to CBL 594 was 1966, unfortunately no years are present on any of the earlier ones that i have done.

Thanks for the great music, Eleventh. As a fan of this particular area of library music, I look forward to hearing more 78s from your collection. Keep up the great work of presenting these audio beauties.

Thank you for your comments, always nice to know i am going in the right direction. I intend to add composer information too (Wicki i know) but trying to get as much in one place as possible, can't hurt.
Just started a new topic for Chappell Recorded Music [Pre C. 313] - Enjoy
Will do 10 JW Themes next i think!
-
Just amazing, TEH! What a huge and exciting project! Thanks a lot for the first batch!
-
Excellent!!!
-
As others also say, what an amazing project! :D
Thank you so much for all of this work, it's most appreciated - and important, too! I suppose a lot of these recordings are only saved on 78's and the original tapes are long gone? Love the blog too. This is like getting a nice box set with liner notes and information!

Thank you do much for your kind words. I am humbled that you like the blog. And yes, i am not sure if the music that is presented on the 78's are available on other compilations, but i do not have them if they are :) - Although i am sure some of the latter 78's i am getting are most like available on vinyl (LPC etc)
-
It is extremely kind of you to share this treasure trove of 78s with everyone. Thank you! I look forward to seeing just what turns up in the weeks to follow :)
-
All this is fantastic! Great work, Eleventh Hour!
-
@ Cesser000 and Stack - You are both very welcome.
I have just updated the first post and the blog with the next 10 Harmonic 78's.
Enjoy.
-
Thanks for the update :)
-
Thank you very much for Harmonic batch two!
-
I made a generic Harmonic 78 label for those who prefer to have a cover image for their music files, as I do ;)

You're very welcome. More to come.
I have just added photos of the labels to the Harmonics i have ripped this far, on the blog.
Enjoy!

Thank you 11th. It's great to have the pics too. I didn't dare asking..
-
Thanks for the second batch! Great stuff as always.
-
Thanks for all the 78s so far...I know how time consuming it can be to give these musical archives the care they deserves...
Your work is very...very appreciated!
-
Thank you very much, Eleventh Hour! I'm impressed with your wonderful project and all these rare records. Awesome share indeed!
-
Thanks for doing all this, Eleventh Hour - much appreciated.
I actually bought quite a few of Dr Jazz's 78s - particularly JWs and Harmonics - so I should be able to plug a few gaps with rips of my own!
-
Fantastic work! Thanks for these and for the blog :)

Lovely, and very thoughtful.
Yes, Stack, as a matter of fact I do prefer attaching an image to the music files. The name / image association helps me to retain info. Rather than use any LP cover from the composer / group or label, I'm always looking for the most appropriate cover image, etc that matches a particular release.
I learned long ago to develop a file of generic, label-appropriate logos for those times when original cover art isnt' available, or is so putridly fugly as to be unacceptable for use. We must uphold our professional standards, amiright?
We can't all be obsessive, crazed perfectionists. But think of how much better shape the world would be if we were?
Thanks for your thoughtful and very useful label knockup, Stack!
;)

Can anyone please reupload these 78s? It's been over 5 years and some of these haven't been recovered in years.

Hi, I know this isn't the exact topic to talk about this subject, but can someone post this full song ripped here? thanks.
